Jillian,

The ideal place to scrap the tables should not be back to back I hate this and it is so unpersonable.

The beds you should do one room away from everyone and call it the snoring room.

I had to leave my bed at the last retreat and sleep on the couch it was so bad.

Refrigerator with ice machine and filtered water, nice. 2 refrigerators now that would be awesome..

Nature quiet place this is the best places to go.

Hi--

I took a peek at some of the features you enjoy in a scrapbook retreat location.  I couldn't help but reply.  We are in the process of building the place you described.  If you are looking for a new place to try consider checking out our website--and dont miss the "latest news" section for opening specials.  Maybe I'll talk to you soon. Hi,

I like having an open kitchen area, and the scrapbook crafting area should not be in the basement, basically a scrapbook house should have the scrap area in the best part of the house, where a huge"great room" would be, with LOTS of natural lighting, windows, sliding glass doors and a deck to take a break on.  The beds should not be jammed too close together, leave at least a full bed length between and not too many beds in each room. Supplies should be readily available, and a small store on site with cute new papers, stickers, etc. should be available for purchase.  good high end tools   ie, Sizzix, Cricut Expressions, computer/internet, 12 in printer are all a must.   Peace and Quiet, ie on a farm or lake are ideal.

Thanks!  Hope you decide to go North of the Cities, like towards Duluth!

Thank you so much. All of that feedback was really helpful, and alot of the things that would be important to you we were already considering having/doing. Which is great because that means we are heading in the right direction:)

Also we are hoping to get a property somewhere within an hour of the cities, either direction right now.

Oh boy.  We just got back from one, and I have some ideas for you.
One, we really like a very separate scrapping area.  We had vents from the scrapping room to our bedroom; the noise level was high.  Plus, our bedroom was right below the kitchen and you could hear every footstep up there.
Two, separate heat controls for the scrapping room and the rest of the house.
Three, good high end tools that most of us cannot afford, ie, Sizzix, Cricut Expressions, computer/internet, 12 in printer, etc.  This is so much more important than refillable things like flowers, chalks, eyelets, etc.
Four, awareness of weather conditions.  We had one gal come on Saturday and she got stuck at the end of a long driveway because we never got plowed out after the storm.
Five, we loved having a 3-car garage to unload from, altho, probably just because it was snowing very hard when we got there.  This would be nice in the rain, too.
Six, a TV with a DVD player in the scrap room.
Seven, boy is it nice to have great mattresses, pillows, and linens.  You really feel pampered.
Eight, our group keeps an eye out for specials.  We like off-season rates.

Thanks for asking.  Best of luck to you!  Where are you planning to build?
